About Us

The origins of the idea from which the National Accreditation Association for Private School Quality developed date back to 1972. During this period, the need for independent evaluation of private schools, their organization, educational programs, and responsibility toward students and families became increasingly apparent. At the same time, emerging methods of instruction began to create opportunities extending beyond the traditional and uniform model of schooling.

From the beginning, our work has been guided by the belief that evaluating the quality of an educational institution should not be limited to reviewing documents or mechanically applying a single model. Meaningful accreditation requires an understanding of a school’s mission, the character of its community, its instructional methods, its governance, and the outcomes achieved by its students.

The National Accreditation Association for Private School Quality combines respect for established educational principles with openness to responsibly implemented innovation. We value schools that provide a well-organized educational process, transparent operating practices, reliable records, appropriate academic oversight, and a consistent commitment to student development. At the same time, we recognize that educational quality does not require identical curricula, methods, or organizational models.

Our standards are designed for both traditionally structured schools and institutions developing homeschooling, online education, hybrid programs, individualized instruction, and flexible educational pathways. Every model, however, is evaluated according to the same fundamental values: integrity, accountability, transparency, student welfare, and the genuine quality of the educational process.

We regard accreditation as an ongoing commitment rather than a one-time authorization. Its purpose is to ensure that a school meets established standards, demonstrates consistency between its mission and everyday practice, and remains committed to continuous improvement. Our evaluations consider both institutional stability and the ability to respond responsibly to the changing needs of students and the modern world.

Our mission is to strengthen confidence in high-quality private education. We accredit and support schools that maintain high expectations while creating an environment that encourages independence, talent development, and educational freedom. We believe that tradition and innovation do not need to be opposing forces. When thoughtfully combined, they form the foundation of responsible, modern, and trustworthy education.

The National Accreditation Association for Private School Quality remains committed to a vision of accreditation founded on experience, independent judgment, and high aspirations. Our purpose is to accredit and recognize institutions for which quality is an everyday practice rather than merely a statement.
