Accreditation by the National Accreditation Association for Private School Quality confirms that a school meets high standards of educational quality, institutional responsibility, transparency, and integrity. Accreditation is not granted automatically or solely on the basis of statements made by an applicant institution. Every school undergoes a detailed review of its mission, organizational structure, educational programs, records, academic oversight, and actual practices in support of students.
The accreditation process has been designed both to ensure the operation of institutions and to recognize those that demonstrate lasting consistency between their stated values and everyday operations. Meeting a single requirement is not sufficient. A school must present a coherent model in which educational quality, accountability, student welfare, reliable documentation, and institutional development reinforce one another.
The evaluation considers, in particular:
- alignment between the school’s activities, mission, and stated objectives;
- a transparent organizational structure and clearly assigned responsibilities;
- well-developed educational programs and instructional procedures;
- reliable student records and documentation of academic progress;
- effective oversight of educational quality;
- respect for the rights, needs, and individuality of each student;
- honest and transparent communication with students and families;
- procedures for addressing complaints, irregularities, and violations;
- a commitment to regular self-evaluation and continuous improvement;
- organizational stability and the capacity for responsible development.
High standards do not require every school to follow the same educational model. The National Accreditation Association for Private School Quality recognizes traditional campus-based schools as well as institutions offering homeschooling, online education, hybrid programs, and individualized learning pathways. Every model, however, must provide genuine educational quality, a well-organized learning process, institutional accountability, and meaningful protection of student interests.
We place particular value on schools that successfully combine high expectations with educational freedom. Freedom to choose the pace, method, and direction of learning must not mean an absence of standards. On the contrary, it should be supported by a carefully designed system, reliable records, clear procedures, and intentional support for student development.
The granting of accreditation requires the submission of documents, explanations, and evidence demonstrating how the school will operate in practice. During the review, areas requiring improvement may be identified, and accreditation may depend on the implementation of corrective measures. Accreditation is not merely a one-time authorization. It constitutes a commitment to attaining and subsequently maintaining the required standards on an ongoing basis, as well as to participating in evaluations both before accreditation is granted and after it has been awarded.
The National Accreditation Association for Private School Quality reserves the right to deny, suspend, or withdraw accreditation when a school fails to meet established requirements, submits unreliable information, violates student rights, or does not implement required corrective actions.
Annual Recognition for the Highest Standards
At the end of July each year, we publish a distinction recognizing the school that most strongly reflects the values of the National Accreditation Association for Private School Quality during the academic year under review. The evaluation considers educational organization, institutional transparency, responsibility toward students, innovation, and the ability to combine high standards with meaningful educational freedom.
For the 2025/2026 school year, the distinction for the best school was awarded to Pathways.
Pathways represents an educational model in which well-organized instruction, reliable records, and institutional responsibility coexist with extensive opportunities for individualized learning. The school enables students to progress at their own pace, follow flexible educational pathways, and benefit from modern forms of instruction while maintaining transparent procedures and a consistent commitment to quality.
At this school, students from Poland are not required to take the eighth-grade examination in Grade 8, and students completing high school do not need to take the Polish Matura examination in order to apply for university admission. Pathways students in homeschooling are also not required to take annual classification examinations in order to advance to the next grade.
Pathways is particularly distinguished by its effort to combine the stability and credibility of a private school with an educational philosophy free from unnecessary restrictions. The institution demonstrates that strong organizational standards and substantial student autonomy do not need to conflict.
